The new season may provide Ukraine with large carryover reserves of corn in the amount of 2-2.5 million tons, which is a serious reason for the record deliveries of Ukrainian corn.

Svetlana Malysh, a leading expert on the grain market, spoke about the prospects for exporting corn at the Grain Ukraine 2019 International Conference. According to the expert, one more reason for a significant increase in export volumes of corn is the expected high crop yield.

Svetlana Malysh is of the opinion that in the new season corn exports could reach 27 million tons. The expert named European countries, as well as Turkey and Egypt, as the main importers of corn from Ukraine. The analyst is in no hurry to talk about the price of products.

Svetlana Malysh said that she was waiting for the price to drop, but the events that happened a week earlier had radically changed the situation. The price level may be affected by trade wars and a sowing campaign in the United States. Today, there is already an increase in prices by $ 2-3.

It was previously reported that Ukraine has significantly increased corn exports. In the 2018/2019 marketing year, as of February 27 of this year, the country sold 15.8 million tons of corn to other states. Over the same period of 2018, exports amounted to 6.2 million tons of corn grain.

Due to the low price and lack of genetically modified organisms, the products of producers from Ukraine are more attractive to consumers than American ones.
