Growth control and weed control go to a new level - all thanks to the efforts of German experts in the field of nanotechnology. To date, they have developed and presented to the scientific community a prototype of a laser device to combat unwanted plants.
Developments and experiments were carried out at the Hannover Laser Center (LZH) with the assistance of LASER employees. The researchers combined optical weed detection methods with laser-based weed control.

It should be noted that the work is carried out as part of the preparation of Germany for the absolute ban on the use of glyphosate in farming in 2023.
"If our work is successfully completed," laser "developments will allow farmers to reduce their dependence on the use of chemical plant protection products," said the Hanover Laser Center staff. We add that laser weed burning differs from other methods of controlling undesirable plants in that radiation can be Directed quickly and accurately to individual selected plants.
““ In this case, we will not adversely affect the cultures or animals that may be nearby, ”the developers emphasize. “Only the sensitive center for weed plant growth will be burned!”
