Ukrainian beekeepers were informed about a competition for the selection of the best honey samples to be presented at the APIMONDIA 2019 Beekeeping Congress, which will be held in Montreal (Canada).
The organizing committee of the National Ukrainian booth at the APIMONDIA 2019 Beekeeping Congress announced that the competition will be held on September 8-12 this year in Montreal, Canada.
“Our idea is to select the best samples of Ukrainian honey that can demonstrate the quality, capabilities and potential of the Ukrainian honey industry,” the report said.
It is noted that the competition will be held for each individual type of honey according to botanical origin - acacia, linden, buckwheat, sunflower, etc. - depending on how many individual types of honey will be provided by beekeepers.

In terms of money, the sale of a sweet product amounted to 23 million 700 thousand dollars, while in January-March 2018, honey was sold for 22 million 800 thousand dollars, which is 4% more.
The main buyers of Ukrainian honey were Germany (29%), Belgium (18.3%) and Poland (12.5%), which held the same positions last year.
