The results of the analysis of data on the number of pests dominant in winter wheat indicate that, due to warming, the long-term dynamics of the bug bug was noted by significant fluctuations in its population. Experts note that due to a number of factors, the bug bug, a harmful bug in Ukraine, is in a state of depression.
In particular, in the period 2008-2011. the growth of the bug population was recorded above the economic threshold of harmfulness. However, in subsequent years, this figure decreased markedly, although foci with high values were still in some places, and not only in the Steppe zone, but also in the Forest-Steppe.
According to the results of autumn surveys in 2018, the bedbug population is still in a state of depression, the average number of adults does not exceed 0.7 ind./ m² (the economic threshold for harmfulness for adults is 2-4 ind./ m²), which is even less than a year earlier - 1.1 ind. / m².According to scientists, one of the factors in this situation is the accelerated development of cereal crops, which was observed in 2011-2018.
In the conditions of early harvesting, a significant part of the bug population does not have time to feed, grow wings and acquire a normal physiological state, which significantly reduces the overall survival rate of bugs during wintering. For your information, a bug bug is a dangerous pest of cereal crops. He seriously damages all cereals, but most of all he likes to feed on wheat.
