The Rostov region again became the epicenter of sad events: an outbreak of infection of animals with the African swine fever virus was again recorded in the region. Employees of the Don Ministry of Agriculture note that cases of the disease of agricultural livestock have been reported in the Konstantinovsky region of the region.
To date, it is known that the pathogen struck at least four pigs that lived in one of the district farms. The owners of the animals immediately signaled that the pigs were ill with veterinarians. Employees of the local veterinary station immediately responded to the signal and arrived at the farm. Now experts are doing everything possible to localize the virus and prevent its spread.
As noted by employees of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Rostov Region, at the moment, the spread of African swine fever can be stopped only by drastic measures. It is about introducing a quarantine regime and eliminating infected animals.
It will not be superfluous to note that in 2018, foci of infection of pigs with ASF virus were already recorded in the Konstantinovsky district. Then the causative agent of the swine plague struck the animals that lived on the territory of the village of Nikolaev - the first case was diagnosed in a dead boar on one of the personal subsidiary plots. Behind him, the virus switched to a pig, the carcass of which was found in an unauthorized dump near the Nikolaev village.
