Life without plastic bags is possible. The idea to replace the usual plastic bags with ecological ones was supported by the authorities, but only in advance.

In the meantime, the public expects concrete steps, local businesses are already being offered not only to protect nature, but also to join in a really good deed. It's about polyethylene. Namely, about its gradual replacement with environmental packaging materials. Similar decisions have already been taken by city councils of several regional centers.

So, earlier it was reported about the rejection of plastic bags in Kakhovka, Vinnitsa and Lviv. Moreover, these are local initiatives, not from the capital. There is no law at the legislative level, but there are two bills. They have almost the same names - "about reducing the use of plastic bags" and "about restricting the use of certain packaging products."

But in Rivne a legislative decision was decided not to wait. Therefore, such restrictions are already being prepared for consideration by the city council. They will still be recommendatory in nature. The shops are offered an alternative: either biodegradable plastic bags or recycled paper bags made from recycled paper.

It is paper bags called truly environmental. The manufacturer of such packages was found in Rivne. They decided to bet on them, although they do not hide it - the cost of polyethylene is a penny, while paper bags are several hryvnias.

Representatives of trade establishments do not rush to express their opinion. They say that we must think and count. “We plan to combine the initiative with social entrepreneurship - to try helping children with cancer through eco-packages - to raise funds for a venous search engine. There is still an urgent need for it. Therefore, we will try to introduce such a system for the first time, ”says Alla Losik, author of the petition and representative of the public organization“ Eco project group ”.

For reflection, representatives of the trade were given one week. It is during this time that those who are ready to begin a gradual transition to environmental packaging should decide. Further ecologists will work with each entrepreneur individually.
