At a meeting on the development of horse breeding in Russia, Minister of Agriculture Dmitry Patrushev listened to the reports of the country's largest horse breeders. Representatives of the scientific elite of the Russian Federation and other indifferent to problems in the horse breeding industry also took part in the meeting.
According to the minister, horse breeding has been one of the key activities of Russians since ancient times. This livestock industry has always been set in Russia at a high level, which must be maintained today.
“I am glad that the horse population in our country is growing steadily, and today we have a population of about one and a half million,” Patrushev noted. “To help horse farmers materially and stimulate their work, generous subsidies are allocated annually for the needs of the industry, the volume of which exceeds 120 million rubles.”

At the end of the meeting, horse farmers and representatives of equestrian associations decided to join forces and create a self-regulatory industry organization. This will allow you to monitor compliance with standards, conduct horse tests, share experiences. And the horses available in the organization’s assets will be able to represent the country at prestigious world competitions and races.
