In 2019, Ukraine increased harvesting of early grain and leguminous crops by 38.7% due to the high yield of winter wheat and barley, as well as spring barley.
Representatives of the Ukrainian Club of Agrarian Business Association (UCAB) association reported that in 2019 the pace of harvesting rapeseed, as well as grain and leguminous crops is 21% higher than in 2018.
According to the data as of July 30, 2019, Ukrainian farmers threshed over 10 million hectares of rapeseed, grain and leguminous crops. Exceeding the rate of harvest is 21%, or 1.7 million hectares, the association said.
According to the UCAB, in 2019 the harvest of early grains and legumes increased by 38.7%, compared with the same date in 2018 for winter wheat, spring and winter barley, and due to an increase in their yield.
So, this year, Ukrainian farmers have accelerated the pace of harvesting winter barley by 50% compared to 2018. This became possible due to the fact that winter and spring grains ripened at the same time due to elevated air temperatures during the first month of summer.
According to data on July 30, Ukrainian farmers threshed 1/3 more winter rapeseed than on the same date in 2018. Recall that in 2018 Ukraine reached a record by harvesting a grain crop of 70.1 million tons.
