Farmers of the Lugansk region during the harvest-2019 have already collected more than 1 million. Lack of logistics by rail and off-road negatively affect the price at which entrepreneurs sell grain.
The construction of the railway will connect 5 agricultural regions of the region to the all-Ukrainian network of railways and reduce the logistics costs of agricultural enterprises of the Luhansk region for the transportation of crops. In Lugansk Regional State Administration, a commission was created to develop technical documentation and proposals for improving logistics in the region.
Today in the Luhansk region there are elevators and facilities for storing grain. But its further transportation causes many difficulties.
“There are no railways in the Svatovo-Belokurakino section, this is due today to security issues. Now farmers use the Starobelsk-Rubezhnoye branch, ”said Lyubov Beskorovaynaya, deputy director of the agro-industrial complex department of the Lugansk Regional State Administration. “In order to preserve the roads, because grain is being transported by cars now, we really need rail connections.”
In particular, the lack of communication between the branches of Kupyansk-Uzlovaya - Popasnaya and Lantratovka - Kondrashevskaya Novaya does not allow to connect the agricultural regions of the region with the all-Ukrainian railway network and is the reason for the destruction of the region’s roads by heavy-grain grain carriers.
In the Lugansk Regional State Administration, a commission has now been created, which also includes the farmers of the region. Some of them are ready to invest in the creation of logistics routes.
“On this site, where there may be a railway line, a significant number of land plots of various ownership forms, all this requires coordination. We sent proposals to our large agricultural producers to co-finance this project, ”added Lyubov Beskorovaynaya.
It is also important for farmers to create a powerful logistics center for the transshipment of raw materials and a complex of processing enterprises.
