Tonight, Friday, May 17, in Offaly County, an affiliate of the Irish Cattle and Sheep Breeding Association (ICSA) will hold an open farmers meeting to which local candidates are invited to the upcoming European and local elections.
The meeting will take place at Shinrone Community Center, Green, Shinrone, Co. Offaly, and starts at 8 o’clock in the evening.
The meeting will feature independent candidate for the European Parliament from Ireland, South Liam Minehan and Greens Party official for agriculture, food, forestry, cultural heritage and animal welfare Pippa Hackett, who is running for local elections in the Edenderry constituency.In addition, John Kenny of Agritech will attend the meeting to discuss best practices in silo production and conservation.
The meeting will also discuss: the scheme of areas of environmental protection (ANC); rural broadband; and the controversial Shannon pipeline project.Commenting on this event, the Chairman of the ICSA in Offaly County William Reid said: “All local candidates are invited to answer questions about local agriculture and rural areas.”
