According to world analysts, today Ukraine is far ahead of Moldova in sales of walnuts on world trading floors. And does it very filigree.
The price of exported walnuts from Moldova is much lower than the price of the same product from Ukraine. And all because Ukrainian nuts - high-quality, environmentally friendly and competitive - are valued much higher on the world market than Moldavian ones.
For comparison: Moldovan nucleoli are estimated at 4 dollars per 1 kilogram, Ukrainian - at least twice as expensive.
2014 was the last year when Moldova exported larger volumes of nuts than Ukraine, experts say. Then the situation changed dramatically. And already in 2015, Ukrainian traders were ahead of their neighbors, every month increasing the difference in volumes and price. And already in the past, 2017, Ukrainians were able to get more than $ 100 million from the sale of nuts. The revenue of Moldavians amounted to 98 million.
Not surprisingly, Moldovan agrarians are set to reduce walnut yields, while Ukrainians expect a significant leap in walnut production and sales.
Walnut groves with valuable breeds of the product flow into the fruiting process, Ukrainian farmers say. Naturally, the demand and price for such goods will be significantly higher than the cost of non-high-quality walnuts.
We add that today Ukrainian farmers are second only to Americans and Mexicans in export volumes of walnuts on the world market. Moldova consolidated its position only in fifth place, passing Chilean traders ahead.
But Ukrainians should not be rejoiced, experts are convinced. Because soon Uzbekistan will enter the nut market. And he is extremely determined!
