In the territory of the Madona Territory, Balticovo launched the first free-standing chicken coop in Latvia. birds will be able to take walks every day over the area of the enterprise, which occupies 8 hectares. This was reported by company representatives.
As reported by LETA, almost 1 million euros were invested in the construction of a chicken house with improved conditions for birds.
Balticovo member of the board Toms Auskaps said that the new type of chicken house with free keeping chickens will provide the buyer with a rare opportunity to purchase peasant eggs with added value, as the quality of each egg will be checked.
The birds of this chicken coop eat fodder produced in Latvia, breathe rural air and have other privileges that they receive when walking along 8 hectares of land.
According to the employees of the enterprise, each chicken spends about 10 hours a day in the fresh air and carries one egg. Madon chicken coop produces 20 thousand eggs every day. In the chicken coop, 4 m² per chicken.
For information, animal welfare organizations around the world are fighting for the abolition of battery keeping of birds in poultry farms.
